Frequently asked questions

Does the reader work on Windows without downloading a driver?
Yes. In most cases, Windows automatically detects and installs the driver when you plug in the reader. A green LED confirms successful installation.
What does the green LED mean?
The green LED indicates the driver is installed and the reader is ready. It does not appear in your system tray; that icon comes from your CAC/PIV middleware software.
Which middleware should I use with my CAC card?
Middleware is provided by your organization's IT department. Contact your local DOIM or IT support for your installation's licensed middleware.
